Books

In class today we talked about books, and in all of the many things we went over one really stuck out to me. That people try to ban books. Like in the video that was showed where Mayor Pailin tried to make the local library to remove books from the library. If someone already sets the rules on what books can be in libraries, then nobody should be able ot change that. If they got the chance to read the book, how can they think they can decide if it i an okay book for other readers. If someone does not like a book they should simply not read it rather thab ban it from everyone.

I totally agree that people should not be allowed to ban books or remove them from public libraries. Simply because not one person has the right to rule or make decisions for THE REST OF US. Yes everyone is intitled to their own opinion, but no one has the right or should have the right ever to over rule on books in libraries. Books make us more knowledgable, understanding, and allow us to learn about history so we do not repeat mistakes. ALL books are great resources, and no one should be allowed to ban them no matter how they are against them. Because others may need them...

Agree too. From the classroom i realized that freedom of speech we have BUT the medium in which we recieve them are not. Like the NC-17 movie and Fox News that puts fear in us and Plain trying to ban books at a public library. System is totally wrong.
